Description
Bonsai is closely resembling circumstances in nature. These styles are open to personal interpretation and creativity of nature.
In nature, the boxwood often grows with twisted trunks and branches. The flowers are greenish-yellow and attract bees. Boxwoods are very robust and can grow even on barren ground, in full sun or shade.
As boxwoods tolerate constant trimming very well and can bud from old wood, they are very well suited for bonsai. The common boxwood tolerates frost but trees planted in containers should be protected from very low temperatures in winter.
The Chinese boxwood has smaller and narrower leaves and a furrowed bark. It is not frost hardy and therefore it should be kept in a cool room with sufficient light in winter.
What makes it special:
- A Bonsai tree is a replication of nature.
- Enhance the aesthetic appeal.
- A tree which is planted in a shallow container.
- Best for both indoor and outdoor.
